Crumbs - after all that daily blogging just before Christmas, I go incommunicado for a week!!
I can only say that I didn't have much to say, plus the fact that I was feeling under the weather and so didn't get up to much and therefore still had nothing to say!!
Anyway - did anyone make any resolutions? Are even the thing to do still, I mean so many used to get made and then broken within the same week (the same day for some people I am sure!!)
In any case, why put yourself under the strain of something that probably isn't going to work - I mean, why on earth would you say that you resolve to loose weight when all the goodies from Christmas are still lurking around the house!! Or why would you say that you are going to get up early and go for a walk/run/crawl (!) when it is pitch dark outside and the bed is just too cosy to get out of!! Incidentally, I am still relying on my three-alarm system to get me out of bed - four if you include a cat climbing all over to me in order to make sure that she gets fed!
Anyway - Fillyjonk over at the Shapely Prose blog talks about the resolutionarys - those people that regularly make resolutions every year and expect that when they do get fit/thin/whatever then they can begin to do whatever they like. Fillyjonk turns this on on it's head and says - do what you want anyway - stop waiting to be thin in order to do what you want. She makes far more sense than I do - so go read it!!
What is quite amusing though is that everywhere you look you see adverts for those so-called resolutionarys! If you watch any television at all, you'll see those ads for weightwatchers, the Kelloggs challenge, local gyms, etc, etc - there is quite clearly a campaign to get people to join the gym and part with your hard earned money in order to visit the gym once! Twice if you're feeling really motivated!!
I really shouldn't be quite so hard on all those people that join the gym every year as I have been there myself - I seem to remember three different gyms that I have joined in the past and I don't think that I attended any of them beyond six months! So, this year, I am not going to do that!! I do, however, have a sneaky little collection of exercise videos at home - perhaps I should dust those off!!

I am still recovering from my blog crazy December and so am glad to hear I am not alone. I hope you are feeling better.
I tend not to make resolutions anymore. I know several people at the office who are starting diets because of the New Year. I hope they are able to stick to it, despite the statistics that are against them.
i have never been able to keep my resolutions, hence i have stopped making them. here is wishing u a great great new year. all the way from India.
I hope you're feeling better now. No wonder I didn't see you around in the bloggie world...
I have a mini set up at home: treadmill, large exercise ball, weights, exercise DVDs and stuff. They were part of my contingency plan last time when I was a gym member. Since I jumped ship, they come in handy as my full time home gym. Hehe...
I'm determined to stick to my resolutions this year. I did for most of mine last year. :)
